Hi, I'm Aarya.

I recently graduated from Stanford University with an M.S. in Robotics. I'm interested in grounded robot intelligence: how robotic policies learn spatial, semantic, and physical structure from perception, language, simulation, and real-world interaction. I'm especially drawn to contact-rich manipulation as a testbed for generalization, failure recovery, and skill learning.

At Stanford, I most recently worked in the ARM Lab with Prof. Monroe Kennedy III, exploring how visuotactile world models can give robots a richer sense of contact and force. Before that, I was in the IPRL Lab with Prof. Jeannette Bohg, developing learning-based methods for bimanual, contact-rich assembly. I got my start in the CHARM Lab with Prof. Allison Okamura, working on haptic interfaces and human-robot interaction.

Before Stanford, I studied Mechanical Engineering at IIT Madras, focusing on assistive technologies and mechatronic systems. Outside the lab, I sang with Stanford Counterpoint (an all-women a cappella group), played guitar, and swam. If any of this resonates, feel free to reach out. I'm always happy to chat!
